David Travez a 43 year-old Ecuadorian man. He has brown skin. His hair is short and black, and he appears clean shaven when someone at one of Yazda International’s shelters is willing to lend him a razor. David wears a single set of plain street clothes that he obtained from a Yazda International clothing drive.
While most people came to Manta for the jobs that were created in the corporate boom caused by AsterCorp’s space elevator, David was born in the area. David considers himself a talented artist, but business dried up as the city’s focus fixated on business and efficiency. Now he finds himself stuck in the city, as he can’t afford any of the transportation out of the area. David lacks the skills and body mods to qualify for employment, and he refuses to apply for jobs on principle. David has tried selling his art and taking commissions, however the general population had no interest in his works. Despite these hardships, David tries to remain positive and keep pursuing his art. Due to David’s financial situation, he does not have many possessions, although he has taken to collecting various forms of art supplies which are quickly abandoned or thrown away by Manta’s general population.
David Travez lingers around Joypolis, talking with the regulars or sketching in the corner. Most of the people who visit the arcade remain interested in arts and entertainment, despite the city’s general rejection of these ‘frivolities’. As a result, David sees the Joypolis’s patrons as kindred souls.
